Camp Little Thunder has been created to serve the needs of Young Women, families and church groups in southern Utah. This beautiful camp is located on a spectacular tract of land in the mountains southwest of Cedar City, Utah. Elevation of the camp is approximately 9,000 feet.
The camp consists of 80 acres that host two camp grounds, Upper Camp and Lower Camp. Each camp ground has 13 campsites, restrooms, running water, fire pits, a covered pavillion and an amphitheater available for use. The camp continues to undergo improvements and regular maintenance to enhance the camp experience.

Stake Leaders: The new 2012 Camp Schedule is now posted here on the site. All fees for the 2012 camp season are now due and invoices have been sent.
Both the upper and lower campgrounds now have bunkhouses in place. Each bunkhouse will sleep 27 young women and up to 6 leaders in seperate rooms. Safety rails are installed on the needed bunk beds to help the camp leaders sleep a bit better this coming year.
Camp Orientation Meeting: All stakes attending Camp Little Thunder need to be represented in the mandatory Camp Orientation Meeting being held on February 16, 2012 at 7:00 p.m. at the Washington Buena Vista Stake Center (Exit 10 Washington, North on Green Springs Drive, Right on Fairway Drive – Stake Center on your right…).
Each stake should have the following in attendance at the meeting:
- Stake Young Women Presidency
- Stake Young Women Camp Director and committee members
- Member of Stake Presidency over YW
- High Council representative over YW
We look forward to a great evening as we address the key issues and purposes of girl’s camp and specifically those of Camp Little Thunder.
Spring Clean-Up: We will be needing lots of help this spring from the Priesthood brethren of each stake to help with the spring clean-up work. We will be making assignments for the end of May and first of June - more info forthcoming.

Want to Enjoy This Wonderful Camp for Church, Group or Family Events?
When not in use by Young Women (see Camp Schedule link), the Little Thunder Camp is available for use by general Church and family groups. Ward youth groups, Scout troops, father/son outings, family reunions, and more can book Little Thunder Camp on a first come, first-served basis. There is no waiting list.
